It is recommended that such installations are fully inspected and tested at least every 3 years to ensure that no damage or deterioration has taken place.
Each circuits cable and its accessories eg sockets, light switches, light fittings etc, are inspected for visual damage, wear and tear etc and then the wiring of each circuit will undergo a series of tests to ensure it is safe and that the circuit is wired correctly. RCD testing is also performed to ensure correct disconnection times are being achieved.
